Staff Profiles New Zealand

Kia Ora. I'm Ian & was born in Auckland from Scottish parents, some time
during the late 1960s ! I had always wanted to work in the tourism industry &
have been with Southern World New Zealand since 1999 & have worked in
Inbound Tourism since 1987 originally with Thomas Cook & as a result probaly
have "veteran" status here in the Southern World Auckland office. I really enjoy
selling New Zealand as a destination & I especially love the challenge of putting  
together special interest itineraries for hikers & clients with an interest in nature.

I enjoy playing football (soccer), going hiking & getting close to & observing the
natural world. My recent hikes have included the Routeburn & Lake Waikaremoana
Walks here in New Zealand & walking the highlands & islands of Scotland to observe
spectacular White Tailed Eagles to name just a few. My favourite places in New Zealand
are Fiordland National Park for it's amazing scenery, Tiritiri Matangi Island for watching
it's rare birdlife & Omaha Beach for relaxing holidays on the beach with friends & family.
